Days: Your Visual Photo and GIF Diary

With our world of modernized media and social media integration it is alarming the rate at which our everyday routines turn digital. Apps such as Facebook and Instagram make the world of our own and of our peers documented in a way that has never been done before. A new app called, Days, is working to create an even more intense bond between our lives and the way we record them. Days serves as a general checkpoint and documentation memory keeper for things we do all day long. With cameras on our phones we take pictures all day long. No matter how insignificant these photos stay with some sort of marker of what we were doing at that point in the day. This app goes to record all of these moments and store them in a way that will make your virtual photo and GIF collection into a daily diary of your own for you and others to see.

There is no other app like this out there. There are apps for pictures, diaries, GIF making, and social media, but never a combination that functions to this extent. The idea behind Days is that there are so many moments in a normal person’s life that go around the idea of that once or twice a day Instagram photo or Facebook status update. People live their lives and take pictures all the time so why not integrate the two into an app where they are stored and kept as a record diary.

This app isn’t like Instagram in the way it holds the photo at the highest pinnacle of the app. It’s not about applying twenty filters and making it look like something it’s not. It’s about recording that split second of your day over and over to recall exactly what you were doing, how you felt and where you were.

Go check out Days in the Apple App Store today and get on keeping track of your memories and your pictures for you and your friends to see.

The Number 1 Windows Phone YouTube App “Metrotube” Now Available for Windows 8 &Windows RT

Watching your favorite YouTube videos is a pastime that the generations of the modern era have come to accept as a part of life. Windows Phone users are left behind on some aspects of modern media due to the lack of availability for otherwise common apps on their platform. There is one app that is amazing for YouTube which is called Metrotube and has been out for Windows Phone for a while, gaining popularity the whole time. The same app Windows Phone users love is now available for the Windows 8 and Windows RT platforms.

This is a free app, so right off the bat it’s one you really can’t go wrong with. The app itself runs extremely well and makes browsing, searching, and getting the most out of YouTube incredibly simple and easy for anyone. The interface is well constructed for anyone who is or is not familiar with how YouTube works.

Metrotube is essentially how you would want YouTube to look if you were viewing it anywhere regardless of a mobile or a desktop monitor. It lays out the categories and opens them up in a touch environment the way you would want them to. This app leaves nothing to the imagination since there is a full 1080p option for viewing.

Windows may be left out on somethings but now other Android and iOS users might even be jealous of the way Windows users get to take advantage of Metrotube. If you have a Windows Phone, Windows RT or Windows 8 device make sure to go check out Metrotube today.

iOS Style Music App for Android

If you love the interface for the iOS music player, but don’t have an iPhone then you’re in luck. iMusic – iPhone 5 Style is an app on the Google Play Store that allows you just that exact luxury. This is essentially an exact replica of the iPhone music app, but available for Android. It allows you to sort music, shuffle, create playlists and manage all of your music with the same touch responses and feel of the native iPhone app.

Even if you haven’t necessarily been overly familiar with the iOS music player, you can almost positively share the same lackluster response that every Android user has when using their music player. It is bulky, lacks options and customization, and really does nothing beyond an early 2000s mp3 player. If you are looking for something better, something more modern and something that allows you to have options you may never have even known existed, check out this copied iOS music player.

This app also comes in several languages so it won’t be difficult for non English speakers to use it as well which is an added bonus. Overall this is a simple, but great app. It’s a great music player, and better than any other I’ve come across that are native to an Android device.

Switch to Windows Phone: An Android App to Help Migrate Systems

Switching between types of phones and operating systems can be a nightmare. Back in the days of clamshell phones and the times when simpler devices ruled it wasn’t a huge deal, but now it’s like losing a child. All of the hard work you’ve put into choosing, downloading, and perfecting apps has to be lost and never seen again. Windows Phone is attempting to make this transition much less stressful for potential Windows Phone users coming in from Android. That’s precisely what Switch to Windows Phone app does. The app searches your current device and allows you to see which of your apps are compatible on Windows Phone. This can then be saved and used to download all of these apps on a new Windows Phone device.

The name of the app kind of says exactly what the purpose is. It is only out for Android since most iOS users are pretty loyal to their devices and their operating system, and if they were going to switch, a switch from Apple to Android would be far more likely than a switch from Apple to Windows Phone.

The app itself works decently well, but has some weird issues. First of all, the list of generated apps it gives you will almost inevitably not include some you like. This is a weakness on Windows Phone end, and not the app, but the disappointment is still there. Also, the app won’t function if you have less than 50% battery, which is kind of ridiculous. If you need 50% battery to minimally run an app then the app has some serious issues of its own.

The app is getting torn apart in the Google Play Store currently. It has an overwhelming negative review score and is actually probably one of the worst rated apps I’ve ever come across. If you find yourself in the midst of a switch from Android to Windows Phone you might just be better off doing a quick search of your apps, rather than tinkering with this flawed app.

Finally Google Search for iOS Updated with Google Now

Google Now is the hot button topic in the world of Google’s famous searching function. This new and innovative update to the way we search the web has taken on a new light and allows the user access to the most relevant information before they can even ask for it. Google Now has been on the edge of being allowed into the Apple App store for a few weeks with both companies going back and forth over who the log jam was, but now it’s all in the past and Google Now is available in the app store.

Google Now allows access to things such as weather, traffic conditions, and general searches through panels called “cards” These cards float on the screen and act as a window into various searches you might want steadily there for access. Imagine a well executed use of the Windows 8 idea with those little boxes on the home screen and you’ll have the basic idea.

Voice integration is another big step up with this app. Now you can simply speak your wildest searches or questions into your phone and have Google go fetch the answers for you. You can even get the answers spoken back to you since, let’s face it, if you don’t have the time or a way to type your question in, there’s a good chance you don’t have the ability to read the answer either.

This search alternative to using a browser is a great way to search and faster for sure. Google Now is the most innovative searching app from the most powerhouse representative of the online searching world. The user interface of the two leaders Google and Apple have come together harmoniously and there’s no reason to not have this on your iOS device.
